Meet the Founder
Joy N. White
Founder & CEO
For Joy N. White, The Study & Society is personal.
After years of working remotely, she experienced firsthand one of the contradictions of modern work: you can spend an entire day connected to people through screens and still feel remarkably alone.
As a healthcare leader and nurse practitioner with more than two decades of experience supporting individuals and communities, Joy’s work has long centered on creating environments where people can thrive—professionally, emotionally and socially.
Living in Portland’s Pearl District, she began imagining the place she wished existed in her own neighborhood: somewhere beautiful enough to inspire you, comfortable enough to stay awhile, productive enough to get serious work done and welcoming enough to walk into alone.
